MAC "Saint Germain" Lipstick Dupe

Lets set the scene... This time last year I was obsessed with this lipstick by Collection called "Bubblegum" and for a small price of £2.99 who wouldn't be, with such great pay off and a gorgous creamy formula? A year later I then stubbled across this MAC lipstick called "Saint Germain" and I thought to myself, that looks like the exact same as my favourite ever lipstick. So of course I had to give it a whirl to see if it was better in any way. So this is my verdict...

These two lipsticks are very similar in so many ways! First of all the pay off are fantastic on both of them, both apply very opaque in a very creamy formula! Secondly the colour is extremely similar, almost identical! If anything I would say the MAC lipstick is a little brighter whereas the Collection one is a slightly toned down version. See for yourself below...

But if there were a competition to test the longevity of the two lipsticks, hands down the MAC one would finish first! But if you don't mind re-applying during the day a couple of times, who really cares? I don't! Not when I'm paying more than 5 times as much for the MAC lipstick!

I love both of these lipstick, but to be honest I don't use one more than the other (unless I'm being very lazy). When these two are both used up I will definitely be re-purchasing the bubblegum shade by Collection. It's just a no brainer! Too see swatches of them both on my lips, scroll down...

Turning Twenty

ON MONDAY IT WAS MY BIRTHDAY!

I know my birthday is over... But at least I can re-live it on my blog and get excited all over again! This year at my local racecourse they were holding a race night on the date of my birthday! I took this as the perfect opportunity to plan a little picnic party with my closest friends and family! We brought lots of picnic blankets, along with some of my favourite food and drink. My dad made his famous coleslaw and potato salad and I "made" a jug of Pimms with strawberries and oranges (I forgot the mint)! My auntie also made me the cutest little cupcakes, personalised with my name and age on. I wore my favourite dress at the moment from River Island with my floral headband from Primark. The sun stayed around the whole day, which made my birthday even more enjoyable. It was a good job too because I did not have a plan B. After the last race we packed up and headed into town for a few drinks, unfortunately I have work the next morning so I was (not really) on my best behaviour!

Although I didn't win any of my horse bets I had the best time surrounded by my favourite people. I felt completely overwhelmed with all the lovely cards and presents I was given. Having everyone there to celebrate my birthday with me made me the happiest birthday girl ever!

In this post I wanted to share some of my favourite photo's from the evening! There was a lot of selfies going on...

Surprise Edinburgh Birthday Weekend | Part 2

For my birthday Scott bought us tickets for Edinburgh Zoo! So this is how we spent our last day. We woke up super early so that we arrived just as the Zoo was opening. This way we got to see a lot of the animals before everyone arrived without all the craziness of people.
Whenever I go to a Zoo one of my favourite animals to see is the penguins, I just find them so fascinating, waddling about and diving into the water. I especially loved this picture because I just imagined the penguins having a very important penguin meeting!
While I was stalking the penguins I found out something really cool. During mating season penguins will take the best pebble that he/she can find and present it to the penguin he/she likes the most. If the other one accepts this gift it means the two of them will be mates for life. But we then realised that when each penguin would leave their pebble stash the others would try and steal them. There was a lot kicking off. Maybe that's what the penguin meeting was about?!
This is a sun bear! They were so cute and very unscary! Here he is having his breakfast!
Edinburgh Zoo is basically set on a big steep mountain. So as you can imagine there was a lot of walking up very steep paths! This meant we had a lot of resting stops. When we reached the top we found the most beautiful view of Edinburgh. Nearly worth the tough walk, but not quite!
I loved watching the Zebra's because they constantly waggle their ears like a dog would waggle it's tale.
This was definitely the most exciting part of the day! We just happened to walk past the jaguars bit as one walked straight past the glass. He didn't look particularly happy. It was pretty scary thinking that there was only a piece of glass separating us from him.
Another rest, but this time with a lolly. Much better. I had my favourite type of lolly, a Twister! We took our shoes off and had a little lay down in the sun. I was definitely on my way to having a little nap...
Scott chose a Calippo lolly.
The last animal we saw was the Panda's! Unfortunately she was facing away from us the whole time we were there. She was to interested in eating her bamboo! How very selfish!
Of course we visited the gift shop on the way out! I may be 20 now, but... I have no excuse really. Scott bought me the cutest little penguin! He is now called percy and is currently living on my bed.

Thank you Scott for the best birthday ever!

Surprise Edinburgh Birthday Weekend | Part 1

On Monday It was my birthday and I turned 20. I officially feel like a proper adult now, I am in my twenties and I am no longer a teenager?!  For my birthday Scott surprised with a weekend away to Edinburgh! I still can't believe he managed to keep it a secret from me, I'm a bit of an inspector gadget when it comes to surprises! I just get really excited!!! The day before we went Scott gave me an envelope with our hotel details, tickets to Edinburgh Zoo and a voucher for Harvey Nickels. I have always wanted to visit Edinburgh so I was over the moon with happiness! The first day we spent walking down Princess Street, shopping,  eating yummy Italian food and enjoying the sunshine! (Yes it was sunny in Scotland) Now onto day 2 ...
After realising on the first day that it was in fact a 35 minute walk into the town centre, we discovered the bus stop right outside our hotel... I was a much happier girl that day!
We took a walk down the famous Royal Mile, making the big mistake of walking down hill first! Which then meant we had to walk all the way up again! Thank goodness I had brought my converses with me, Edinburgh is very steep and hilly! Of course I had to get a photograph with a man in a kilt playing a bagpipe!? It would have wrong not too...
All the walking made us put on a few pounds!
This is where we had reached the top of the Royal Mile! My body fitted perfectly underneath the little sign! I wore my new Topshop coat that I got in the sale with some comfy clothes underneath.
Scott's name was everywhere...
We then walked through Princess gardens, where there were lots of pretty flowers!
Which also lead us right past the castle where we got a quick photo! My hair at this point was crazy, I was forever putting my hair up because I was getting so hot (*cough* sweaty) from all the walking! My legs hadn't felt this much action in a long time!
We then took a pit stop off at The Dome, Garden Cafe. Where we both had hot chocolates with all the toppings! It then started to rain but luckily the garden cafe had huge umbrellas that covered the whole area. This was perfect because although it was raining it was still really stuffy and humid!
We got massive food envy from the table next to us because they had the most amazing nachos I had ever seen. We may have ordered Nacho's from TGI's later that night...
Before heading out to TGI's for dinner we went back to our room early to escape from the rain, where we watched more episodes of Suits! While we were getting ready I played lots of birthday songs, my favourite one is Will.i.am, It's My Birthday. I may have been singing it all weekend... I then ordered a bottle of wine to our room to start my birthday celebrations early!

Stay tuned for part 2,

YouTube: TMI TAG

Hello! Last Weekend I uploaded the TMI (Too Much Information)Tag to my YouTube channel! I thought it would be a nice little way to introduce myself into the YouTube world. In the tag I answered 50 questions, yes 50 questions! It did'nt seem a lot untill I was 20 minutes in and I was only on question number 15, I then realised I was going into a tutch too much detail! But that is what the tag is called, right?! So hopefully this has let you get to know me a little bit better without scarying you away! I would just like to say a thank you to those of you who have subsribed to my channel, I am really enjoying my little space at the moment!

YouTube | Topshop, Primark & Accessorize Haul

Hello, Hello! I know it has been a while since I last uploaded on the YouTube front, but I have been on holiday (first excuse) and then when I got home my car decided to fail it's MOT, which FYI was going to cost more than the value of the car to fix! I may have shed a tear, ok I cried a lot. So I have been spending a lot of time looking for a new one (second excuse)! I have recently picked up some lavely peices in the sale and I just wanted to share them with you! If you are looking for a new coat, Topshop is definetly the place to be right now!

I hope you enjoy!

Mexico Outfit #5 Beach Time

Other than hanging out by the pool and eating a lot of food (I'm talking 3 courses every meal) we spent a lot of time at the beach. At there other end of our resort was a bridge that led directly onto the beach from our hotel. So we literally had the beach on our (back) doorstep. The beach was full of palm trees and golden white sand! I feel so lucky to have gone to such an beautiful place! The weather was crazy hot, well it was for a pale girl like me! So when I wasn't playing around on our lilo in the sea I spent a lot of time in the shade reading my book. The book I read was called "The Gone Girl" By Gillian Flynn and I loved it, I couldn't put it down the whole holiday! It was the first crime investigation book I'd read and I was completely hooked! I would definitely recommend it if you like that kinda genre.

I wore really basic outfits to the beach and this was my favourite of them all. The shorts I actually took on holiday with me last year and I wore them pretty much every other day, so I couldn't resist taking them on a second holiday! These shorts are great because they're high waisted and very light coloured, which made it very easy to pair with different tops for other days I spent at the beach!

I hope you have enjoyed all my holiday outfits and i'll be back on here very soon!

Mexico Outfit #4 Tribal Style

River Island Dress / Primark Sandals
Helloooo! Yes I found another place to take my outfit photo's other than the really pretty bridge! Actually it was one of the reasons that drew me to go on holiday to Mexico... the cute straw roof thatched huts! I know, very easily pleased! They were our favourite place to chill out on an evening and play cards! Scott taught me how to play Rummy and I even kicked his ass a few times! ;) This is a gorgeous smock dress from River Island in a lovely tribal print (I think). It's just one of those pieces  you can sling on and you're out the door. You don't really need any accessorising (other than my all inclusive wrist band!) because the dress has so much going on! This dress I found was very flattering because of the smock style it doesn't cling anywhere! Only slightly comes in at the waist and gathers out to create a very flattering style.

I hope you're enjoying my outfit posts from my holiday! I'm definitely coming down with the holiday blues now!
