WAGON'S COFFEE BAR!

This bank holiday Monday I hung out with my bestest friend, Em! We spent the afternoon catching up over a late breakfast at the Wagon's Coffee Bar, down Princess Avenue in Hull.
Unfortunately where we had planned on going was actually closed, so this place was our option B! It caught my eye because of all the pastel coloured writing on the window! I FREAKING LOVE PASTEL COLOURS!!!
The cafe was very small with around 5 tables. It had just the right amount of space between each table so you didn't feel all squashed together!
The cafe was like a little vintage shop too! It sold lots of pretty jewellery, hand bags and gifts! I enjoyed spotting all the different things scattered around the cafe that you could buy! Very clever idea... Okay... I may or may have not bought a pair of earrings!
Okay, so I ordered something very different, nothing like I had tried before! A Mexican hot chocolate!? It was made with dark chocolate and cinnamon, so it was kind of spicy in a nice kind of way! I loved all the miss matchy cups and saucers! I especially liked the way they put a normal mug served on a china saucer! I would never think of doing something like that, but I think it worked really well.
I do a great drinking pose... NOT!
Whereas Em seems to do it pretty effortlessly!
So as soon as I saw pancakes on the menu, that was me sold! Of course I ordered the maple syrup pancakes with crispy bacon!
The sweetness of the syrup and the saltiness of the bacon is just soo ummmmm!!! Oh and they also layered butter in-between each pancake, which is very naughty but such a brilliant idea! All the butter soaked into the pancakes... I. Was. In. Heaven!
All gone!
These are the cute little earring I bought!
The place had a very creative, quirky vibe going on! I especially loved the way they displayed their menu's in funky looking photo frames!

Thursday's Thoughts #3

So, it's Thursday night. Which makes it Friday tomorrow and hello bank holiday weekend! Luckily for me I have also taken the rest of the week off work! So I am going to jam pack my week full of fun things with all my friends and family!

So the last few weeks I have been eating a whole lot more healthier (except the popcorn, Fanta and crispy m&m's I ate last night at the cinemas)! I am thoroughly enjoying my porridge with blueberries and banana every morning for breakfast! Last weekend I ran out of porridge and I kinda freaked out! I have just been loving my little routine of my porridge, a cup of tea and a glass of water for breaky! Talking about tea, I can't believe I am actually saying this... but... I no longer take sugar in my tea, or coffee! I thought it would take me a while to get used to but honestly by my second cup of tea with no sugar I really didn't care! Recently I have been making lots of little changes to create a more healthy diet! For example I am having almond milk with my porridge and I am drinking a lot more water and hardly any fizzy pop! Hands down, this has a lot to do with the Cameron Diaz, The Body Book! It is really educating me and making me want to change my diet! On the plus side I am still eating yummy foods and I really don't feel as though I'm on a diet as such, I'm just feeding my body the right kind of foods!

FYI! My hair is finally growing!! At the beginning of the year I had a lot of my hair chopped off so that it was shoulder length. The reason for this was because I had the ends of my hair, dip dyed blonde! Which by the way I absolutely adored and if it wasn't for the bleach damaging the hell out of my hair I would definitely keep that hair style! Apparently ginger hair can't take bleach as well as blonde or brunette hair! But finally I can actually see some growth going on, plus my hair is looking and feeling super healthy. Which to be honest, I'd take that any day over dry, rat like hair!

If you are wondering what the random photo of the flowers are... these are the beautiful flowers I bought my mum today! I'm not going to go into to much detail to why I bought her them, but my mum has been going through a lot of pain this past year and thought it would be the perfect way to brighten up her day!

LADIES DAY!

On Wednesday I took the day off work to attend Ladies Day! It has definitely become a little tradition of mine to go every year now! Especially since me and Scott have got together, as he is a big fan of horse racing! Of course we took along our own picnic, which consisted of some of my favourite foods; olives, humous, pitta bread, chicken and big chocolate buttons! To drink I brought a bottle of Pimm's and some lemonade. Luckily when we arrived our friends had brought along fold up chairs and 6 large umbrellas!  So when it did rain a couple of times we all put the big umbrellas together to make a little shelter. I wore a dress from the Topshop, Kate Moss collection that I got in the sale for only £30! I love this dress because it is super girly and pretty and also very flattering because you can tie the little rope around you waist as loose as you like. This time I won two races, one of the horses was called Noodle Blue Boy, which I went for because I love noodles!! I think nearly all of us left with more money than we came with too! We then headed into town for a few drinks before walking home with a takeaway pizza in hand, with donner meat... I am not ashamed! I had the loveliest day with everyone! I also got to have a great catch up with my good friend, Jonathan, who I don't see nearly enough because he is always travelling to different countries with his work. Boo you Jonathan!
Take 1
... Take 2 (I may have knocked Em's drink out of her hand)
... and that's as good as it gets!
Studying the form, obviously!

Good Evening! I have just uploaded my first EVER vlog to my YouTube channel! It was so much fun to film and edit, it's definitely one of my favourite video's i've filmed so far! Me and my little brother, Eddie, went strawberry picking in a town called Skiptonthorpe! We have had the best time! On the downside I tried peppermint tea and it was gross! I am going to pre apologise for the wind at some points in this video! DAMN, it was sooooo freaking windy... Sorry! I hope you enjoy!

Thursday's Thoughts #2

Good Evening Folkes! Okay, I don't think I've ever used that word in a sentence before... Anyway, a while ago I wrote a post called "Thursday's Thoughts", so seen as though it's Thursday and I've got a lot of thoughts going on at the moment, I'm back with another!

Firstly I have just eaten my dad's homemade Thai green curry and it was blooming delicious! Thank dad, you the best! I can't wait till I'm older so that I can cook all of his family meals for my family, okay I'm talking a while off yet! But I like the idea! My dad has this book called "The Little Red Book". It's basically where he has written down all his favourite recipes in the last gazillion year! All the writing has faded... Two Christmas' ago I bought him this recipe book from Paperchase, where you write in all your own recipes for different meals. Has he used it? Na'ah, The Little Red Book still wins!

So, recently I have been feeling a bit all over the place! I have had a lot of stuff going on this month, not that I am complaining because it has all been so much fun! But do you ever feel like you are crazy busy doing all the fun things and forget about all the normal, small things you've gotta do!? So this month I am going to appreciate the small things. For example spending more quality time with my family and taking Zara out on longer walks! I also want to  start baking more and maybe even attempt a baking video! I have also started reading a new book by Cameron Diaz, called The Body Book. I have been looking for a book like this for a long, long time! It's basically a book educating you about nutrition and how your body works! But not in a boring sort of sciencey way! I am absolutely loving it and I can't wait to start putting all the little tips and advice into action!

Oh! I am now a coffee drinker! Usually I am a tea kinda gal but recently I have turned into a coffee drinker! Before the only coffee I would drink was a latte with one shot! But now I am all over granule and cappuccino coffees! Yes, this is probably a bad discovery but it definitely helps on those sleepy days when you need a kick up the bum!

That's all I've gotta say! Good night folks! ;)
